      <image:title>breathwork - 1-on-1 Breathwork</image:title>
      <image:caption>'“What is Breathwork?” ‘Breathwork’ is any intentional breathing practice that alters the breath for healing benefits. It’s an acceleration of the healing process, as it bypasses the cognitive part of the brain and allows us to get deep into the body where we can release stuck emotion, self-limiting beliefs, trauma, and grief. Breathing practices have been used for thousands of years across different cultures to help people release emotion and trauma that is stuck in the body. I use a two-stage breathing technique which shares a lineage with pranayama breathing and also incorporates elements of what is called ‘modern breathwork’. Breathwork is an incredibly powerful tool for healing, as the healing comes from you. As your facilitator I hold space for you and help guide you into your body’s natural impulse to heal. When we get out of our own way, we are reminded that our bodies know what to do. “How does a session work?” I start each session by chatting with you, to find out more about what you are bringing into the session. This helps you articulate and clarify your intention for our time together, and gives me an idea of how best to support you in your process.  The breathing process (known as ‘active breathing’) allows you to move out of your ‘thinking brain’ and get into your body. The breath brings up stuck emotion, trauma, and self-limiting beliefs, providing the opportunity for you to release these from your body, letting go of what is no longer yours to carry. Sometimes I use other tools to assist, such as aromatherapy, or gentle touch. You are always in choice and use of additional tools will always be discussed with you prior to starting a session. After active breathing we move to a restorative space, where you can connect to your innate self-love and belonging. After the session I provide aftercare guidance, and (with your consent) will check in with you the following day.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>*currently only offering therapy for New York-based clients* *only offering telehealth sessions at this time* Studies consistently show that the most important part of effective therapy is a strong relationship between you and your therapist. When you come to see me, establishing a supportive connection where you feel safe enough to be yourself and to take risks is my first priority. I view myself as a collaborator with the people I work with and believe in moving at the speed of trust. My approach as a practitioner is integrative, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I mainly use what is called ‘experiential’ models of therapy, meaning we are slowing down, noticing and working with material present in real time. The models I use include mindfulness, embodiment and somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other relational and attachment-based models.  My practice is firmly rooted in liberation frameworks – meaning that we make connections between the outer world and the inner world, with attention to how capitalism, patriarchy, white supremacy and colonialism impact your mental health and well-being. I have experience working with adults and young people experiencing homelessness, folks struggling with addiction; people experiencing anxiety, depression, and on-going trauma of oppression; queer and TGNC people, sex workers, HIV positive folks, frontline activists, queer immigrants, artists, and many intersections of these groups. And, being in relationships is hard. Or maybe you are seeking to deepen your intimacy and connection with your person. If any of these resonate for you, I can help. I welcome and have experience working with a range of relationship constellations, both monogamous and non-monogamous/poly. Regardless of your relationship structure, engaging in therapy with a loved one is an act of courage, and I am here to support you.  My approach to Relationship Therapy is collaborative and integrative. Similar to my work with individuals, I emphasize experiential models such as IFIO (Intimacy From the Inside Out) – the couple’s therapy model of Internal Family Systems (IFS).
